Allergology

Allergic diseases are very diverse and at many allergies a continuous increase of cases can be noticed.
Among them is the so called Type-I-allergy, where patients react to pollen, house dust mites, mildew, animal hair or other allergens with hay fever or asthmatic complaints. Even the aggressive ragweed pollen can cause such complaints.

So called contact allergies can emerge out of nowhere and definitely come along with a severe inflammation of the skin. The eye area is often affected, because the skin in this area is very sensitive. A contact allergy can stay localized, but it can also spread to other regions of the body. Also neurodermatitis patients suffer from various allergies, which can have a negative influence on the progress of the disease.

For a differential diagnosis of allergical reactions, we perform a number of tests. On this way, nearly every kind of allergies like pollen allergies (hay fever), allergic asthma, animal hair-, mildew-, and house dust allergies, food allergies, drug allergies and so called contact allergies can be precisely diagnosed.

Which allergy-tests are performed in the practice?

  • prick test
  • intradermal test
  • scratch test
  • epicutane test (plaster test))
  • RAST blood examination
  • fast check (quick analysis on allergies with just one drop of blood))

What are the possible forms of treatment?

As different allergic diseases occur, as various are the forms of treatment. Among an extensive consultation, we establish an individual plan for the therapy.
With type-I allergies, the hyposensitization, a specific immunotherapy, reveals good long-term results. The health problems can be relieved and an allergic asthma can be prevented.
