Vampire Lift:

Process and Effects of PRP Therapy

What is a “Vampire Lift”?

The “Vampire Lift,” known as PRP therapy (Platelet-Rich Plasma), is an innovation in aesthetic medicine for skin rejuvenation and biostimulation. During the procedure, the patient’s own blood is collected, specially processed, and applied to the skin following specific preparation (e.g., via needling or peeling).

How does the Vampire Lift work?

This technique originates from regenerative medicine and stem cell research. The processed blood plasma stimulates cellular renewal by encouraging the growth of collagen as well as cutaneous and subcutaneous cells.

Injecting PRP into the skin activates connective tissue cells (fibroblasts), which stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. Furthermore, the injection of PRP attracts connective tissue stem cells that activate the natural process of tissue regeneration and collagen synthesis. Hyaluronic acid production increases, allowing for improved water binding and moisture retention. The result of PRP therapy is a refined, smoothed complexion with skin and connective tissue renewed from within.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas can be treated with a Vampire Lift?

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Décolleté
  • Scalp
  • Back of the hands
  • Stretch marks
  • Surgical and traumatic scars
  • Acne scars

What results can I expect after a Vampire Lift?

  • Improved skin texture, skin tightening, and wrinkle reduction
  • Enhancement of the skin’s appearance on the neck and décolleté
  • Accelerated skin healing following laser or peeling treatments
  • Reduction of dark under-eye circles
  • Stimulation of hair growth

How does a Vampire Lift affect dark under-eye circles?

The area around the eyes is particularly fragile and can take on a bluish tint due to impaired microcirculation. Growth factors in the body’s own blood concentrate (PRP) stimulate microcirculation around the eyes, improving brightness and helping the skin regain its strength.

How does a Vampire Lift treat hair loss?

Injections of PRP into the scalp stimulate the stem cells in the hair follicles and enhance microcirculation by forming new blood vessels, thereby supporting hair growth.

What is “Cellular Matrix Gel”?

A new technique in Vampire Lifting now allows for even better results. In this process, the collection tube contains 2 ml of non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, which is mixed with the PRP. This method provides the skin with an exceptionally high amount of moisture and nutrients.

Another advantage is the high viscosity of the plasma-hyaluronic acid gel. The platelets and growth factors are encapsulated within the gel and remain at the injection site for a longer period, thereby increasing the duration of the PRP’s effectiveness.

What is the treatment process of a Vampire Lift?

First, blood is drawn from a vein in the arm and centrifuged in a specialized tube. The activated plasma is then applied to the pre-treated skin.

How many sessions are required?

For effective and long-lasting results, we recommend 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Subsequently, annual refresher sessions are sufficient to maintain the outcome.

What should be considered before and after the treatment?

To avoid bleeding and bruising, aspirin or other blood thinners should not be taken for at least 10 days prior to the PRP treatment. Following the procedure, intense sunlight and tanning beds should be avoided for at least 6 weeks.

What complications or side effects may occur?

Possible side effects are limited to the consequences of the injections themselves, such as redness, bruising, or infection. Since PRP is an autologous (the body’s own) product, allergic reactions are extremely rare.

When should a Vampire Lift not be performed?

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Acute skin conditions in the treatment area (inflammation, neurodermatitis, acne)
  • Active or chronic infectious diseases (especially Hepatitis, HIV)
  • Tumors
  • Acute autoimmune or rheumatological diseases
  • No intake of Aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (except Paracetamol) 1 week prior
  • Severe bleeding disorders (hemophilia)
