Liquid Facelift:

Facial Contouring with Hyaluronic Acid

A youthful, fresh face is characterized by soft contours, harmonious cheeks, and a balanced proportion between the middle and lower face. As we age, skin elasticity decreases, fat pads shift downward, and the so-called “inverted V” develops—making the face appear tired or more stern.

Liquid Facelift for sagging cheeks and facial contouring

What is a Liquid Facelift?

A Liquid Facelift describes facial lifting without surgical intervention.

In this procedure, fat pads that have shifted due to time and gravity are lifted and redefined using Hyaluronic Acid, Calcium Hydroxylapatite (Radiesse®), or Profhilo Structura. By restoring volume to the cheeks and strategically placing the filler, the “inverted V” is corrected, achieving a significantly younger appearance.

Dr. med. Meike Schröder is recognized as a distinguished expert in this field due to her many years of experience and is a regular speaker and instructor at specialist conferences.

What does the term “Facial Contouring” encompass?
Facial contouring means restoring the natural harmony of the face. Preserving the so-called V-shape is particularly important, featuring:

  • Defined cheek areas
  • A clear jawline

We place great emphasis on avoiding “overfilled” or “puffy faces.” The face should not look “done,” but rather rested, fresh, and natural.

Frequently, a combination of the following is recommended:

  • Discreetly applied Hyaluronic Acid
  • Calcium Hydroxylapatite or Profhilo Structura
  • Supplementary Thread Lifting, if necessary
  • Targeted Lipolysis for sagging jowls or a double chin

Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas can be treated with a Liquid Facelift?

We provide detailed consultations and decide together with you which areas require volume restoration. Planning often follows the 8-Point Lift by Mauricio de Maio, where small hyaluronic acid depots are placed deep within the fat pads.

These depots serve as new anchor points for the tissue. Areas such as the cheekbones are rebuilt. Hyaluronic acid is introduced into sunken areas as a natural filling element, restoring the face’s youthful contour. Corrections can also be made to the bridge of the nose or the temple area—all scar-free and without surgery.

Injection points and amounts are customized according to age and individual needs.

How long do the results of a Liquid Facelift last?

Depending on the material and region, results last 12 to 18 months. Treatments can be repeated as often as desired. For deep wrinkles, a “touch-up” after about 6 months can extend the longevity of the result.

How long does the procedure take and is anesthesia used?

The treatment usually takes about 30 minutes. If needed, a numbing cream is applied beforehand. Most hyaluronic acids used also contain a local anesthetic, making the injection well-tolerated.

When can I resume social activities after a Liquid Facelift?

Following the treatment, slight redness, swelling, or minor bruising may occur. These typically subside quickly, allowing you to return to your normal daily activities shortly thereafter.

What should I keep in mind after the Liquid Facelift?

  • Day of treatment: Do not massage the treated areas.
  • For several days: Avoid saunas, steam baths, extreme heat, cold, and UV radiation.
  • First day: No intense sports or “head-down” movements.
  • For approx. 14 days: No cosmetic massages in the treated area.

When should a Liquid Facelift be avoided?

Treatment should not be performed in cases of known hypersensitivity to the products, acute infections in the injection area (e.g., herpes), immunosuppression, autoimmune diseases, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
