How does the non-surgical laser eyelid lift work?

Fractional CO2 laser therapy is an advanced development in skin treatment using carbon dioxide lasers (CO2 lasers).

In the past, “skin resurfacing” was the standard—a fairly invasive procedure where the entire top layer of skin was removed to stimulate new skin growth. This has been replaced by fractional laser therapy, which applies only individual, micro-fine dots to the skin. This triggers collagen neoformation and structural remodeling in the deeper layers of the skin.

When is laser lifting used for eyelid lifting?

This procedure is particularly well-suited for the scalpel-free treatment of mild hooded eyelids and fine periorbital wrinkles (crepey skin).

How does laser treatment for eyelid lifting work?

The laser beam consists of high-energy, focused light directed onto the skin.

Thanks to the patented technology of the eCO2 system, evenly distributed micro-laser beams with diameters ranging from 0.12 mm to 1 mm can be produced.
Where the laser light hits, the skin is selectively vaporized to a depth of over 1 mm. The goal is to treat only 10% to a maximum of 20% of the skin surface in each session (Fractional Technology). The surrounding healthy tissue promotes rapid skin regeneration.

After a few days, the lasered points form fine crusts, which are typically shed gradually within a week. The skin renewal process begins. During this time, the skin may appear slightly darker.

What else should be considered for eyelid lifting at the SCHÖNE HAUT practice in Berlin?

Does the laser treatment for eyelid lifting hurt?

The laser light creates a warm, tingling, and in some areas, stinging sensation on the skin. The occurring pain is generally well-tolerated, as an anesthetic (numbing) cream is applied before the treatment to reduce sensitivity.

Are there side effects to eyelid lifting?

When the laser is used correctly, crusting, redness, and moderate to severe swelling are typically observed for about 3 to 7 days. Initially, a feeling of warmth and tightness—similar to a sunburn—and potentially micro-bleeding may occur.

In rare cases, slight blistering or hyper- or hypopigmentation have been described in addition to crust formation.

What do I need to consider for aftercare?

The most important measures are consistent sun protection and caring for the treated skin with our Post-Procedure Cream. Compresses with cold green tea also help to relieve pain and reduce swelling.

When can I resume social activities after the treatment?

You should plan for a downtime of about 1 week after the treatment.

How many sessions are necessary at our practice in Berlin?

To achieve optimal results with a laser eyelid lift, we recommend 3 treatments at 4-week intervals. However, the skin becomes visibly tighter after each individual session.
