Important factors for the development of acne:
- Excessive sebum production

- Augmentation of bacteria (they are not infectious!!)
- Inflammatory reaction
What has an influence on the development of acne?
The highest influence on the distinction of the acne have the genetic endowments. If your parents suffered form acne, the possibility for you to be concerned with the disease is higher than normal.
An important trigger of the acne at adolescents are the hormones, the body produces at the beginning of the puberty. Mainly male sex hormones (androgens), which are also produced in lower concentration by females, lead to an increased sebum production.
The amount of the produced sebum depends less on the quantity of androgens, than on the sensitivity of the sebum glands.
Among the genetic endowments and the increased amount of hormones in the puberty, also external factors have an influence on the acne. So ingredients of body care products can stimulate the acne. We also call this „comedogenity“.Therefore, body care ointments, which are suitable for acne respectively impure skin bare the impression „non comedogenic“ .
Can acne just emerge while puberty?
Acne occurs preferably with the beginning of the puberty and decays between the 20-25 year of one‘s life. But it can also appear beyond this period.
Thus some babies suffer from acne, which fades away and reappears with the puberty. Other patients still suffer from acne after their 25 year of life, whereat the following rule counts:

- the moderate acne, where in addition many inflammatory blains and purulent blains are visible
- the severe acne, where furthermore nodules and abscesses occur.
Every form of acne needs a different type of treatment which often lasts for a long period.
