Ambulant surgery

Ambulant surgeries

The dermatological surgery illustrates a focus in our practice. With a lot of sensitivity and the newest technique, we remove disturbing skin variations and thereby set value on an aesthetic result. In many cases, the micro surgery with finest incisions comes into operation.

Where is the ambulant surgery carried out and how does it work?

The surgical removal of benign or malignant skin variations takes place in our practice, mostly by the help of local anesthesia.
We perform these surgeries very gentle with the aid of approved surgical and laser medical techniques. The excised tissue will be histological analyzed, to exclude a malignant mutation. If there is a suspicion on a malignancy, the cutting edge will be controlled to provide a tumor-free status.
Due to this, this method is called the micrographic controlled surgery.

What are the most commonly used surgeries?

  • Excision of distracting skin variations like birthmarks, lipomas (fatty swellings), atheromas (epidermal cysts), age warts
  • Excision of pigment spots (freckles, age spots)
  • Excision of xanthomas (yellow fatty accumulations at the eye)
  • Excision of skin cancer and pre-stages like
  • Basal cell tumors, spinaliomas, melanomas
  • Corrections of scars
  • Earlobeplasties

What can I do if I am afraid of the surgical intervention?

We take an extensive education and a fine grasp for afraid patients for granted. On demand, a dissolving suture material can be used in order to avoid a removal of the stitches. We can also exhibit sedative pharmaceuticals before the surgery.

Best, if you are responsive to this issue in the educational advertising.

How do I prepare for the ambulant surgery?

In the consultation-hour, the date for the surgical intervention will be determined. You will be educated about the surgery, and will also get an information-sheet, which shall be brought along with your signature at the day of the surgery. Peruse the information sheet of the intended surgery with care.
Please tell us, of you take anticoagulatories. At the day of the surgery you can have breakfast in the morning and come rested to the appointment in the practice.

How is the surgical intervention carried out?

The surgery takes place by the help of local anesthetics. With a small injection, the treated area will be analgized. After a few hours the anesthetization decays. The pain from the incision can be felt slightly or not at all afterwards. Only in exceptional cases a light painkiller is needed (no Aspirin, but Paracetamol or Ibuprofen tablets).

What can I do after the surgical intervention?

Depending on the type of intervention, you can go home or to work afterwards. But you should protect the treated skin area from mechanical stress and moistness to improve the healing of the skin.
Please abstain of sports for a appropriate time after the surgery.
If the intake of sedative pharmaceuticals was arranged, you need someone to escort you home after the surgery.

When do the stitches have to be removed?

The wound closure is made with the most modern surgical suture technologies. Oftentimes, we use absorbable (self dissolving) suture material, which remains in the skin and dissolves within a few weeks or months and therefore need not to be removed. During this time you can feel a rigidification under the scar. Additional, the surface of the skin will be bonded with skin closure strips, or an adhesive bandage will be attached. In special cases however, additional stitches in the surface of the skin are necessary, which are removed at the 6 to 14 postoperative day.
